CIDOPY

In February 2005 foundation Pygmies Kleinood (FPK) established a branch office in Goma, Nord-Kivu in DRCongo: CIDOPY, Centre d'Information et de DOcumentation PYgmees (www.cidopy.org). In this office we created an administrative workstation with communication facilities such as a laptop computer with internet/email access, a printer, scanner and digital camera. This office is used to develop project proposals, write weekly field reports and to do administrative work, etc.

A second room has been made into a meeting place and library. The library contains Pygmy literature (scientific and photo books, dissertations, abstracts, pygmy music CD’s, interactive DVD’s, etc) on Pigmy history, their mode de vie, anthropological studies, field reports, etc.

Mr. Achille Biffumbu is office manager and field facilitator of FPK in Congo. He specializes in Pygmy affaires and rural development issues. Achille is a graduate at Bukavu University, faculty Development Studies.

Logistic facilities for pygmy Kivu/Virunga fieldwork:
- 3 Yamaha 100 cc off-road motorbikes are available for the
  Mobile Medical Pygmee Team.
- 1 Toyota pick-up
- 1 Medical treatment tent

In Ituriforest:
- 2 Yamaha off the road motorbikes.
